GeographicSegment

Entity Definition

Logical Name : GeographicSegment
Physical Name : CO_GEO_SGMT

A customer grouping based on common GeographicSegment. A GeographicSegment is an AREA and it can be a large area composed of lower level areas or a low level composed of a single location. Retailers will decide how to use geographic hierarchies and locations to segment customers. ARTS provides a very flexible schema so retailers have wide latitude to choose their geographic customer segmentation strategy. As a rule, retailers should choose a the LOWEST level geographic segment their systems and data will support because it is possible to aggregate up to higher levels. But it is very difficult to decompose higher level geographic areas to lower levels if those level segments are not defined.
